Vision

A world where every ability shines.

In everything we do, every activity we run, every lesson we share our focus is always on what can be achieved. We believe that all our students, residents and service users have the ability to lead fulfilled lives. We just need to enable them to do that. Our ethos has always been to create a safe, warm environment.

So far, we have raised over £2.4million towards this fantastic project. We now need to raise the last £30,000 to complete the project. Can you help?

Our aims

An exciting programme of capital improvements has been designed to support the flexibility that is needed to accommodate the very complex medical and physical needs of people with profound and multiple disabilities.

We’re planning:

A new hydrotherapy pool for use by our students and groups from the community
An extra classroom and new student entrance
Accessible meeting space (including accessible toilets) open to the community

Space to thrive

With custom learning pathways for every ability to shine, one of our bespoke offers is aqua therapy in a thermoneutral hydrotherapy pool. This means that the water doesn’t affect the core body temperature improving circulation and muscle relaxation. Not only do our students benefit therapeutically from cardiovascular, muscular, or skeletal points, there is also a noted reduction in pain levels and students can access all areas of the curriculum whilst in the hydro pool. Because of this the hydro pool is an ideal learning environment. It allows for a person with PMLD to be free and independent with truly minimal hands-on assistance.

We’ve already been approached by groups in the local community who want to use the benefits of delivering therapy in a hydro pool, such as physios for post operative rehabilitation. With the space bookable in the evenings and weekends, not only will our students thrive in this space, so will members of our community.

We are thrilled to share that Phase 1 of our development project, the new hydrotherapy pool, is now complete and being enjoyed by our students. This transformational facility has been a long-held ambition, and seeing it in use every day is truly rewarding.

Now, our focus turns to Phase 2: creating a new classroom, dedicated therapy space, and an accessible meeting room. These vital facilities will further enhance the learning and wellbeing of our students, helping them reach their full potential.
