Rutherford School is a specialist independent school for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities aged 3-19. Our aim is to provide inclusive education to learners whose very special needs are compounded by a high degree of dependency. The school’s holistic approach facilitates learning that is supported and managed by a specialist range of therapies which address physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical needs. We have written our own bespoke, highly unique curriculum – The Rutherford Curriculum. This curriculum has successfully been implemented in the school. The school is part of the Garwood Foundation, a well established and highly regarded local charity. www.garwoodfoundation.org.uk
We are excited to offer a 19-25 year old provision. The school has successfully registered to provide education to this age group. We are in the process of finalising plans for a bespoke designed building that will be home to the Rutherford Life Skills Centre.
